The owner of a 2006 Hyundai Sonata contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 1400 Merritt Blvd in the Dundalk area of Baltimore County, Maryland. Baltimore County Police Radio dispatched an officer from the 12th Precinct to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2006 Hyundai Sonata.

A short while later, officers from Baltimore County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2006 Hyundai Sonata with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 7900 Eastern Avenue in the Essex area of Baltimore County, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The undamaged vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified.

Approximate value of vehicle: $3,750.00

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Hyundai Sonata in January, 2008 at Bob Bell Ford in Glen Burnie, Maryland.
