The owner of this Mazda discovered that their vehicle has been stolen from his residence. He contacted the Clovis Police Department and reported the theft. The Clovis Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Just minutes after the LoJack was activated, an investigator with Fresno Heat, the Fresno County Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigator tracked the vehicle to a residential area near Ann and Omaha Avenues in northeast Fresno. The Mazda was observed parked at the curb in front of a residence. Assisting units were summoned and surveillance was initiated on the vehicle. After four hours with no activity the vehicle was recovered.

The vehicle was undamaged and intact; it was towed pending release to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda in September 2013 at Lithia Ford in Fresno, California.
