LoJack System Helps Baltimore County Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota RAV-4

The owner of a 2004 Toyota RAV-4contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of  Dogwood Road in the Sparrows Point area of Baltimore County, Maryland. Baltimore County Police Radio dispatched an officer from the 12th Precinct to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the subject vehicle. When the officer was unable to locate the vehicle, a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2004 Toyota RAV-4.

A short while later, officers from Baltimore County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen 2004 Toyota RAV-4with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to 8200 Gray Haven Road in the Dundalk area of Baltimore County, Maryland. At this location, officers observed the vehicle in possession of the theft suspect. Police performed a felony vehicle stop and arrested the driver. The undamaged vehicle was recovered by police and the owner notified.
