The owner of a 2000 Honda Civic contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

Approximately 20 minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD along with Auto Theft Detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Civic with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their marked units and undercover vehicles.  The Civic was tracked and found to be unoccupied.

The stolen Civic was recovered and processed for evidence at the scene.  The owner was notified of the recovery and Civic was promptly returned.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in September 2000 at Keyes Woodland Hills Honda in California.
