Construction workers in Punta Gorda, Florida returned to their worksite to find that one of their pieces of construction equipment was missing.  The job foreman contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Department to report that their 2016 Takeuchi Skid Steer was stolen.  The responding Deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System transponder concealed in the skid steer.  Police patrol vehicles, helicopters, and fixed wing aircraft equipped with Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) began to search for the vehicle, which was now transmitting the silent LoJack® signals.

A short time later the silent LoJack® signals directed law enforcement to a large wooded area in Punta Gorda, Florida.  The LoJack signals pinpointed to the location of the skid steer and Deputies on foot in the wooded area were able to recover the skid steer.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Takeuchi Skid Steer in Takeuchi Sales, in Pendegrass, Georgia.
