The owner of a 2006 Lexus 350LS contacted the 45 precinct to report that her vehicle had been stolen. The details are as follows.

She was at Orchard beach in the Bronx, apparently while she was on the beach and away from her blanket, someone stole the keys to her vehicle from her pocket book, the vehicle was in the parking lot. When she went to get her vehicle she found it missing, she immediately called the Police of the 45 precinct., When the Police arrived they took a written report, this information was entered into the NYPD Computer for stolen vehicles, it also enters the NCIC computer which is the  computer for the U.S. Once this was done the LoJack transponder that is hidden on the vehicle was activated without any special calls or notification, this was done both seamlessly and silently.

Within a short while members of the Bronx Auto Larceny unit picked up the signal in the Soundview section of the Bronx, confines of the 43 precinct. They tracked the moving vehicle through various streets in the Soundview section .Eventually they caught up with the vehicle as he was parking. They immediately blocked him in and took him into custody without incident.

The vehicle was recovered with no damage, the owner was notified, and she was elated that her vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage.

The LoJack unit was installed at Lexus of Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo CA. on May 20, 2006.

The value of the vehicle was approximately $8200.00
