LoJack System Helps Port of Portland Police Department Recover Stolen Ford E250

This Ford E250 was stolen during the night from the owner’s business in Portland. The theft was reported to the Portland Police Bureau who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Just thirteen minutes later, the Port of Portland Police Department officers picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen E250 van on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following directional and audio cues from the PTC, they tracked the LoJack signal to the 10800 block of NE Marx Street where the van was found abandoned and apparently undamaged. The van was returned to the owner who purchased it as a used vehicle and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Ford E250 in June 2005 for a commercial customer in Washington.
