The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

In 2 minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. The Chevrolet was tracked to a neighborhood grocery store in the area of Cutler and San Mateo where it was found parked in the parking lot and occupied.

As the officers entered the parking lot, the occupants of the stolen Chevrolet exited the vehicle and took off running. Two subjects were apprehended after a short foot chase. One subject was found to have outstanding warrants from California. The Chevrolet was recovered and will be released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in September 2016 at Brad Francis Chevrolet in Los Lunas, New Mexico.
