The owner of a 2007 Volvo XC90 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Volvo in his driveway and when he returned to it found it missing. The owner had left a spare car key in the center console.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volvo.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volvo with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Volvo to the 2300 block of Dunloe Drive, where they found it parked on the street in front of a house. No one at the house claimed to know how the stolen Volvo got there. This Volvo was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volvo XC90 in May 2007 at Volvo of Richardson in Texas.
