The owner of a 2006 Ford F350 contacted the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle was stolen. The owner advised there was a shotgun inside of the Ford at the time of the theft. The Valencia County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F350.

Approximately an hour after the activation, a deputy with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and aircraft. The deputy was just completing their field briefing when he picked up the signal and notified the other deputies of the LoJack hit. Deputies began tracking the silent LoJack signal which took them into the neighborhood in the area of 2nd Street and Sunnyslope.

Deputies located the Ford parked at the end of a street and it was unoccupied. The Ford had a damaged driver door lock and damaged ignition. During the inventory search of the stolen Ford the shotgun was not located. The owner was notified of the recovery but could not respond to the scene so the Ford was towed for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 in March 2017 at Brad Francis Ford in Los Lunas, New Mexico.
