The owner of a 2013 Honda Accord called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The owner advised an acquaintance took the Honda and has failed to return it. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

Approximately an hour after the activation, the Albuquerque PD officers and auto theft detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Accord with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol and undercover vehicles. The Accord was tracked to a parking lot of large retail store.

Auto theft detectives set up surveillance on the Accord which resulted in the apprehension of the named offender. The owner was notified of the recovery and responded to the scene to take possession of the Accord.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in July 2016 at University Motors Mazda and Volkswagen in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
