The owner of a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado called the Albuquerque Police Department and the LoJack Call Center to report the vehicle was stolen. The owner advised their residence was burglarized and the offenders took the Colorado and another vehicle from their residence in the area of Eubank and Academy. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Colorado. The other vehicle unfortunately did not have LoJack.

Shortly after the activation, the Albuquerque PD officers and auto theft detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Colorado with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol and undercover vehicles. The Colorado was tracked to an apartment complex in the area of Juan Tabo and Eubank. The Colorado was parked and found to be unoccupied.

The Colorado was processed for evidence at the scene by a crime scene technician. The owner was notified of the recovery and the Colorado will be returned. The other stolen vehicle however has not yet been located.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Colorado in July 2016 at Mark’s Casa Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
