The owner of a 2004 Ford F150 contacted the Las Cruces Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen by a known subject. The Las Cruces PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F150.

In just 9 minutes after the activation, deputies with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was tracked to a residence on the west side of Las Cruces off from Picacho. Deputies made contact with the residence and identified the named offender. The offender was taken into custody and was also found to have active warrants for his arrest.

The Ford was recovered at the scene and the owner was notified of the recovery. The current owner had no idea their Ford was equipped with the LoJack® System. The Ford was returned the owner within under an hour from the time it was reported stolen to the time it was recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in September 2004 at Grand Prairie Ford in Texas.
