LoJack System Helps Washington State Patrol Recover a Stolen Ford Escape

The owner of this Ford Escape inadvertently left the keys in the vehicle while attending a concert in Kent. The Ford was parked in the 500 block of 4th Avenue. When she returned to the Ford after the concert, it was missing. The theft was reported to the Kent Police Department. The Kent PD verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later that day, troopers in a Washington State Patrol Cessna aircraft flying over King County picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in the airplane. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, they tracked the signal to the 19900 block of 225th Street SE near Kent. A trooper on the ground, also equipped with a PTC, quickly located the Ford. The Ford was abandoned and apparently undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Ford Escape in January 2014 at Marysville Ford in Washington.
