The owner of a 2013 Jaguar XF left the country for a couple of weeks. When they returned they discovered their roommate missing, as well as the keys to the car and the Jaguar. The owner contacted the Miami Beach Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers, which automatically activates the LoJack® System concealed in the Jaguar.

Later that evening, while on routine patrol, a Fort Lauderdale Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Jaguar on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC), that are installed in law enforcement patrol vehicles, helicopters and aircraft. The LoJack signal was picked by the Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff’s Office officers as well. The officer began tracking the stolen Jaguar by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC’s screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the 4-door sedan in the 2100 block of East Oakland Park Boulevard. The Jaguar was recovered, removed from state and federal crime information computer systems by the entering agency and towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Jaguar XF in August 2013 at Alpine Motors in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
