The owners of a 2010 Ford Econoline contacted the D’Iberville Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen while parked out front of their business overnight.

The D’Iberville PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Econoline.

Recovered in about 4 Hours – Second Van Recovered Also

About 4 hours later officers from the New Orleans Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a neighborhood near Almonaster and Florida Ave. The van was parked on the street parked behind a 2009 Ford Econoline which was found to be reported stolen from Metairie, Louisiana, a month earlier. Officers discovered that both the vans’ ignitions had been defeated. Both vans were placed in storage until the owner could claim them.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Econoline in July 2010 at Commercial Sales.
