The owner of a 1996 Honda Accord called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

Shortly after the activation, an off-duty Santa Fe Police Department officer was enroute to court in the area of I-25 and Alameda when he picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The officer notified the Albuquerque PD dispatch center of the LoJack hit and continued to court.

An officer with Albuquerque PD equipped with a PTC went into the area and began tracking the Honda. The officer located the Honda in a hotel parking lot in the area of I-25 and Paseo del Norte. The Honda was unoccupied and backed into a parking stall. The Honda was recovered and will be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in March 1996 at Browns Arlington Honda in Virginia.
