The owners of a 2006 Jeep Liberty reported their vehicle stolen to the Denver Police Department after discovering that while they were busy at the front of their home burglars had broken into their house through a rear door and stole the car keys.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Jeep.

A short while later officers from three different law enforcement jurisdictions picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Jeep with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs officers with the Denver PD tracked the signal and located the stolen Jeep in the 700 block of Delaware Street. The Jeep was unoccupied and was towed for evidence processing and was released back to the very grateful owners later.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Jeep Liberty in October 2007 at Automotive Avenues in Lakewood, Colorado.
