LoJack System Helps Baltimore County Police Department Recover Stolen Lexus IS250

The owner of a 2008 Lexus IS250 contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen after the vehicle was left unlocked with spare keys in the vehicle console from the area of 1900 Winder Road in the Woodlawn area of Baltimore County. The Baltimore County PD Radio dispatched an officer from the 2nd Precinct to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Lexus. When the officer was unable to locate the Lexus a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus IS250.
A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to the area of 800 W Lombard Street in the Pigtown area of Baltimore City. At this location officers observed the Lexus parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Lexus was then recovered by police and the owner notified.
The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Lexus IS250 in June 2008 at Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly, Virginia.
