The owner of a 2015 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner is a car dealer.  The suspect, while posing as a pilot, contacted the car dealer via the internet and stated that he wanted to buy this Cadillac.  He filled out the financial paperwork online and requested that the Cadillac be delivered to the local airport. Based on the information on the paperwork, the dealership approved the sale and the Cadillac was delivered to the airport.  Shortly after the sale, the dealership discovered that all the information on the paperwork was false and the Cadillac was no longer at the airport.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

Twenty five minutes later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Cadillac to the 1000 block of Murdock Rd, where they found it parked on the street. This Cadillac was recovered in good condition.  This is an ongoing investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade at Sewell Village Cadillac in Dallas, Texas.
