The owners of a 2008 Nissan Altima contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot while at work.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later the air unit from the Phoenix PD and troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Nissan to the parking lot of a shopping and entertainment district near Tatum Boulevard and the Loop 101, in north Phoenix.

The troopers located the stolen Nissan unoccupied in the parking lot. Auto theft detectives from the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force were contacted and responded to the area. The auto theft detectives conducted surveillance on the stolen Nissan and later recovered the Nissan. The Nissan was recovered in good condition and returned the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in May 2008 at ABC Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona.
