The owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima contacted the 105 precinct New York Police Department, Queens Village, to report that his vehicle was stolen from him. The owner stated that he parked his Nissan and locked his vehicle in front of his house. When he came out in the morning he found the Nissan missing. He immediately reported the theft to the 105 precinct.

The NYPD 105 precinct verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the stolen Nissan. This was done both seamlessly, and effortlessly.

A short while later, officers from the 113 precinct picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan on their LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC they tracked the signal into the Baisley Park section of Queens, confines of the 113 precinct. There they found the Nissan which was parked on a residential street. They decided to stake the Nissan out; they staked it out for a short while. However when no one showed up for it, they took the Nissan into custody. The Nissan was recovered with no damage. The owner was contacted and was present on the scene. He was elated that his Nissan was recovered so quickly, especially with no damage on it. The owner stated that he was happy that his Nissan was equipped with LoJack, stating that he was lucky that the vehicle was equipped with the LoJack unit when he bought it. He further stated that if it wasn’t for LoJack his Nissan may never have been recovered at all.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Nissan Altima in May 2006 at Cox Nissan in Bronx, New York.
