The owners of a 2006 Nissan Murano contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner was contacted by a female acquaintance and was asked if she could borrow his Nissan to go to the doctor. He agreed and she left. The owner could not get ahold of the female to get his Nissan back so after 30 days he called the police.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Six minutes later officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan to the parking lot of a medical center in the 1500 block of East Tropicana. The Nissan was occupied by the same female described as the one who stole it. The female was safely taken into custody and taken to jail. The Nissan was recovered and returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Murano in September 2008 via Direct Sales.
