The owners of a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 contacted the Colorado Springs Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from an address on Aeroplaza Drive. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the pickup truck.

Later officers with the Colorado Springs PD picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Dodge to the 2600 block of Oremill Road in Old Colorado City. The truck had been abandoned by the thieves.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Ram in April 2010 at Colorado Springs Dodge in Colorado.
