LoJack System Helps Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Recover a Stolen 2009 Honda Civic

The owner of a used car dealership on Route 46 in Succasunna called the Roxbury Township Police Department to report that during the night someone had broken into the dealership and stole three vehicles. The dealer was unaware that one of the stolen vehicles, a 2009 Honda Civic, was equipped with LoJack.

The Roxbury Township PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Civic.

A short time later, officers from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the corner of Ellison Street and Church Street in the City of Paterson. The Honda was recover ed parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Honda Civic in June 2009 at Open Road Honda in Edison, New Jersey.
