Recovered Toyota 4Runner

The owner of a 2016 Toyota 4Runner called the City of Elizabeth Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The customer told the police that he had parked the Toyota in front of his house for the evening and in the morning it was gone.

The City of Elizabeth PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota 4Runner.

A short time later, officers from the Elizabeth PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to Port Ave in the City of Elizabeth. The Toyota was recovered parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Toyota 4Runner in September 2016 at Route 1 Auto Mall in Avenel, New Jersey.
