The owner of a Ford Expedition contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Lakeside.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within a short time, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to the 12600 block of SR-67 and G Street in Lakeside.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Expedition in November 2004 at Auto Frame Specialist in El Cajon, California.
