The owner of a 2009 Honda Accord contacted the McKinney Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Honda in his driveway and when he returned to it found it missing.  The owner kept a spare key in the center console of his Honda.

The McKinney PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later, officers from the McKinney PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda to the 1200 block of E Virginia Ave where they observed it parked in a driveway.  There were three suspects inside the stolen Honda.  Officers were able to detain all three suspects.  The suspect sitting in the driver’s seat and the suspect in the front passenger seat, who had the key to the Honda, were arrested for car theft.  The third suspect was arrested for lying about his name.  The Honda was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in November 2009 at Jim McNatt Toyota in Denton, Texas.
