The owners of a 2001 Ford F250 contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment complex parking lot sometime during the previous night.  The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Less than thirty (30) minutes later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of 4400 Sanford where the vehicle was parked and abandoned in an apartment parking lot. The Ford sustained damage to the door lock and steering column. The pickup was processed for prints and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in May 2001 at Auto Nation Ford in Katy, Texas.
