The owner of a 2003 Ford Expedition contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 800 Nottingham Road in Baltimore City.  The Baltimore City PD Radio dispatched an officer from the 8th District to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Ford. When the officer was unable to locate the Ford a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Expedition.

A short while later, officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford Expedition with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of 2400 Bridgehampton Drive in the northeast area of Baltimore City. At this location officers located the Ford parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Ford was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Ford Expedition in December 2002 at Miller Brothers Ford in Ellicott City, Maryland.
