The owners of a 2017 Honda Ridgeline contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence sometime overnight.  The keys may have been left in the Honda.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Thirty five minutes later detectives from the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force and officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives and officers tracked the Honda to the area of 30th Street and South Mountain Avenue.

The auto theft detectives located the stolen Honda parked in a neighborhood.  No suspects were observed with the Honda or in the area.  The auto theft detectives conducted an extended surveillance with negative results.  The Honda was later recovered and processed for evidence.  The Honda was returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Ridgeline in July 2016 at Tempe Honda in Arizona.
