The owner of a 2012 Honda Accord contacted the San Bernardino Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Bernardino.

The San Bernardino PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Within 16 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to the 260th block of East 6th Street in the city of San Jacinto. A suspect was located; the investigation revealed the suspect had fraudulently purchased the Honda. He was arrested for possession of stolen property, vehicle theft and domestic violence.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in September 2014 at Long Beach BMW in Signal Hill, California.
