The owner of a 2015 Kia Forte contacted the Pueblo Sheriff’s Office and reported that his vehicle had been stolen from his home by a known suspect.

A deputy sheriff verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.

Later in the day a trooper with the Colorado State Patrol and a deputy with the Pueblo Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack homing signals coming from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Kia to the area of North Purcell and Hailey in Pueblo West. The Kia was contacted and the suspect in the auto theft and elderly abuse case was arrested. The Kia was undamaged and returned to the very grateful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Kia Forte in December 2014 at Dale Spradley Motors in Pueblo, Colorado, at the request of the current owner.
