The owner of a 2009 BMW 328i contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

At a later time, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the BMW to the 500 block of Imperial Blvd in the city of Imperial Beach.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 328i in October 2015 at BMW of San Diego in California.
