The owner of a 2007 Ford F-350 contacted the Hemet Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Hemet.

The Hemet PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within 22 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Ford to the 29000 block of Alessondro Street in Moreno Valley.  A traffic stop was conducted and one suspect was taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-350 in December 2006 at Gosch Ford Lincoln Mercury in Hemet, California.
