The owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Pueblo Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Civic.

Later officers with the Pueblo PD picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Honda and located it while it was being driven. The suspects in the stolen Civic fled from officers at high speed. Due to the danger posed by the stolen vehicle the no pursuit was initiated.

Later still a deputy with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office tracked and located the stolen Honda Civic to an alley near Elizabeth between 13th and 14th. The Civic was parked at the rear of a residence but none of the people who were present claimed to know anything about the “hot car.” The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Civic in 2003 at Automotive Avenues in Lakewood, Colorado.
