The owners of a Dodge Caliber contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

A short while later officers with the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Dodge to the alley in the 1600 block of Akron and Alton. The Dodge was found unoccupied and towed for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Caliber in September 2008 at Colorado Springs Dodge in Colorado at the request of the owner at that time.
