The owners of a 2007 GMC Yukon contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owners had dropped off the GMC at a transmission shop in the 3200 block of Wynn and left it there for repairs. After two weeks they called to find out the status of the repair and the phone was disconnected. They went by the shop to find it completely empty and their GMC missing so they notified police.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

10 minutes later the same officer from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the GMC to an address several blocks away where the officer found the GMC stashed behind an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Arville. The GMC was recovered and returned back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in December 2007 at Centennial Toyota in Las Vegas, Nevada.
