The owners of a 2014 Ford Focus contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the 300 block of East Silverado. The owners had parked the Ford in the driveway of their residence and locked it, leaving the extra transponder key in the Ford. The owners then went into their residence for the night. When they went to use the Ford the next day they found it missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the 600 block of South 6th Street. The Ford was found unoccupied and unharmed. The Ford was then recovered and returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus in February 2015 at Team Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada.
