The owner of a 2005 Volvo S40 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner parked her Volvo in the driveway and when she returned to it found it missing. She kept a second set of car keys in the center console.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volvo.

Second Stolen Vehicle Located

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volvo with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Volvo to a house in the 1600 block of Red Cloud St, where they found it parked in the driveway. Parked in front of it was a stolen 2002 Toyota pickup taken in a burglary. No one was inside the house. Identifiable fingerprints were lifted from the stolen vehicles. This is an ongoing investigation.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volvo S40 in April 2005 at Volvo of Richardson in Texas.
