This Mercedes Benz SLK280 was stolen from a car dealership, located in the 17300 block of SE McLoughlin Boulevard, sometime over a several day period.  The Mercedes was supposed to be at a repair shop and when it was discovered missing, the theft was immediately reported to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.
A few hours later, a Washington State Patrol trooper patrolling near Auburn picked up the silent LoJack signal from the Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the trooper tracked the Mercedes to a grocery store parking lot in the 100 block of Auburn Way South.  One occupant in the Mercedes was arrested and booked into jail.

The dealership purchased the Mercedes at an auction in California and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Mercedes SLK280 in November 2007 at Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
