The owners of a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their residence with the key fob that was left in the vehicle.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

A short while later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Land Rover to the area of 10th Street and Maryland Avenue, approximately six miles from where it was stolen from.

The Phoenix PD officers located the stolen Land Rover unoccupied in a parking lot of an apartment complex.  No suspects were observed in the area.  The Land Rover was recovered and processed for evidence.  The Land Rover was returned to the owners at the scene, who were very happy to get the vehicle back in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover Range Rover in March 2017 at Jaguar Land Rover North Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
