The owners of a 2003 Ford F250 contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.   The owners had parked the Ford in front of their residence and went inside for the night.  When they came out of their residence they found the Ford missing.

A police officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later a vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Ford was tracked to the 4000 block of Avonwood where it was found parked and unoccupied.  The VIPER task force was notified of the location of the Ford and decided to set up surveillance on it.  VIPER had information on a car thief, who specializes in Ford trucks, living two blocks from this Ford’s location.  While under surveillance, a male got into the Ford and drove it to the 1400 block of Lodgepole in Henderson, Nevada.  As VIPER was observing the Ford, three individuals started to manipulate parts off of the Ford.  The three suspects were then approached and taken into custody.  Parked next to this Ford was another 1999 Ford F250 which also came back as stolen.  All of the suspects admitted to being involved in the theft of both of the Fords.  All three individuals were arrested for the thefts and taken to jail.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Ford F250 in October 2003 at Team Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada.
