The owner of a 2000 Mercedes E320 contacted the Olympia Fields Police Department to report that his vehicle was missing from his driveway in the 2900 block of Dartmouth Lane in Olympia Fields.  The Olympia Fields PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes E320.

Shortly after the Mercedes E320 was activated the Cook County/Chicago Police Department helicopter equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent and directional signal from the stolen Mercedes over the Cook County /Will County border in University Park.  An Illinois State Police trooper following the signal from the Mercedes tracked the vehicle to the Brittany Woods Apartment Complex where the Mercedes was recovered parked and unoccupied in the 700 block of Burnham Drive in the apartment complex parking lot. The Mercedes was recovered and towed by the Illinois State Police for investigation.

Due to LoJack the owner of this 2000 Mercedes E320 had his vehicle recovered shortly after it was entered as stolen. The Mercedes was recovered before it could be damaged, stripped, cloned, re-tagged or used in a crime.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes E320 in December 2006 at Luxury Motors in Downers Grove, Illinois.
