The owner of a 2008 Mercedes Benz ML63 called the Monroe Township Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The customer told the police that his Mercedes was parked in his driveway overnight and when he came out in the morning it was gone. The Mercedes was unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle at the time it was stolen.

The Monroe Township PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz ML63.

A short while later, officers from the Atlantic City Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Mercedes Benz with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The Mercedes was recovered abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Mercedes Benz ML63 in August 2007 at Mercedes Benz of Tysons Corner in Virginia.
