The owners of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Lakewood Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later officers with the Northglenn Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Cadillac to the 500 block of East 120th Avenue. There the Cadillac was stopped and one suspect taken into custody for Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in September 2005 at Arnold Palmer Cadillac in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the request of a prior owner of the vehicle.
