The owner of a 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the area of 1600 G Street SE in Washington, DC. The District of Columbia Metropolitan PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Mercedes. When the officer was unable to locate the Mercedes a stolen vehicle report was prepared. The officer then arranged for the stolen vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz C230.

A short while later, officers from the District of Columbia Metropolitan PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz C230 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to the area of 13th Street and L Street SE in Washington, DC. At this location officers located the Mercedes parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Mercedes was then recovered by police and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 in April 2007 at ASC Mercedes Benz in Arlington, Virginia.
