The owner of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle was embezzled by a known relative. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Fifteen minutes after the activation, officers with the Albuquerque PD and Auto Theft Detectives from both Albuquerque PD and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol and undercover vehicles. Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the officers and detectives tracked the Chevrolet to a residence in the area of 68th and Iliff.

The Chevrolet was recovered and towed from the scene for safekeeping until it could be returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Traverse in August 2016 at Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
