The owner of the Toyota Rav4 parked it where he normally parks it on the street where he lives.  This was in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, confines of the 68 precinct. When he went out for the Toyota the next day he found it missing and immediately called the New York Police Department of the 68 precinct. When the police responded they took a written report. The NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Rav4.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up by officers of the 72 precinct in Sunset Park Brooklyn. They tracked the signal through various streets of Sunset Park; eventually locating the Toyota parked on a residential street. The officers staked it out for a short while, when no one came for the Toyota, they took it into custody. The Toyota was recovered with minor damage.

The owner was contacted and notified of the recovery. He was elated that his Toyota was recovered so quickly, especially with only minor entry damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Toyota Rav4 in January 2007 at Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, New Jersey.
