The owner of a 2014 Toyota Camry called the Union City Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. The customer told the police that he had parked the Toyota in the street in front of a friend’s house in Union City and ran inside for a short visit. He left the Toyota unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle.  The customer also called the LoJack Call Center to report the theft.

The Jersey City Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Camry.

A short while later, officers from the Jersey City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Toyota to the Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The Toyota was recovered abandoned and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Toyota Camry in November 2014 at Hudson Toyota in Jersey City, New Jersey.
